JHM Certified Public Accountants to Provide Accounting Oversight, Sponsor ‘Survivor Cafe’ at 2013 Komen Chattanooga Race for the Cure, Sept. 29
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (August 29, 2013) – JHM Certified Public Accountants announced that it will provide accounting oversight of registration monies, and sponsor the “Survivor Cafe” at the 2013 Komen Chattanooga Race for the Cure on Sunday, Sept. 29.
Survivors of all forms of cancer, including breast cancer, are invited to stop by the Survivor Cafe between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for refreshments at no charge.
This year’s region-wide fund-raising event will be held at Finley Stadium, 1826 Carter St., on Chattanooga’s Southside.
Event day registration for the Race opens at 11 a.m., with 5-K race time at 2 p.m., and the untimed one-mile event immediately following.
“Several JHM employees, partners and clients have been personally affected by breast cancer. Serving at the Race for the Cure with our accounting expertise and hosting the Survivor Cafe seemed like a natural way to express our solidarity with cancer survivors in Chattanooga and our gratitude to Komen for the research they support. As the 2013 event’s Survivor Sponsor, our hope is that area survivors will enjoy an opportunity to relax from the day’s events at the Survivor Cafe, and to encourage one another in a way that no one else but a fellow survivor can do,” said Dean Krech, JHM’s managing partner.
Additionally, JHM personnel will be onsite to offer professional accounting oversight of registration monies collected on the day of the race.
“Komen is so thankful to JHM Certified Public Accountants for its community-minded spirit, and the meaningful role they are playing in our mission of finding a lasting cure to breast cancer,” said Karen Edmondson, executive director of Komen Chattanooga.
